JayG Floating Timer is a small always-on-top desktop timer built to stay visible while you work.
It tracks your Session, Today, and Total time, includes break reminders, and gives you safe reset controls.
Getting Started
- Open JayG Floating Timer.
- The timer begins tracking your current work session automatically.
- Keep the timer visible while you work in other apps, folders, browsers, or documents.
Session starts fresh each time you begin a new run. Today and Total continue based on saved data.
Understanding the Three Timers
- Session tracks the current active session.
- Today tracks your total time for the current day.
- Total tracks your overall accumulated time.
Main Controls
Pause / Resume
Click the pause button in the title bar to pause all timer activity.
Click it again to resume.
Reset Session
Resets only the current session timer.
Reset Today
Resets only the Today timer.
Reset Total
Resets the Total timer only after multiple warning confirmations.
The Total reset uses extra warnings so you do not erase long-term time by accident.
Break Reminders
JayG Floating Timer can remind you to take breaks automatically.
- Turn on Enable Breaks.
- Set the break interval.
- When the interval is reached, the break popup appears and the timer pauses.
- Click I'm Back to resume.
- Click Snooze 5 min to delay the next break.
Break Interval Test Mode
JayG Floating Timer includes a hidden developer test mode for checking breaks more quickly.
- Click Ses inside the Session label.
- The break interval switches from minutes to seconds.
- Click it again to switch back to normal minutes mode.
This is useful for testing break timing without waiting long periods.
